As coronavirus cases continue to decrease across the United Arab Emirates, Dubai authorities this week announced new Covid-19 guidelines, including increased capacities for indoor and outdoor live entertainment and sporting events.

Permits will now be issued for community sports events, concerts and social events. With immediate effect, live entertainment and activities will be permitted within restaurants, shopping malls and other public indoor venues. This will continue for an initial trial period of one month, which may be extended.

Entertainment venues are now able to operate at an increased capacity of 70%, with a maximum number of attendees of 1,500 for indoor events, and 2,500 for outdoor events.

Social distancing remains in place, with physical distance reduced to two metres, and the wearing of masks continues to be mandatory. All attendees of live events must be fully vaccinated.
